We believe that seeking support should start with one gentle step...

Thank you for trusting us as part of your village.

Before we begin, we need to make sure that we are the best service to support you.

A quick checklist. You are:

  • 18+ years old

  • Living in Australia

  • In the perinatal period: pregnant, postpartum or experiencing fertility, pregnancy or infancy loss, or family planning concerns

  • Available for Telehealth appointments on Wednesdays only

  • Aware of our session & cancellation fees (see our FAQs)

If your primary concern is: eating disorder or disordered eating, drug & alcohol use, domestic and family violence or abuse, navigating legal matters, another service would be best suited to you. If you are unsure if we'd make a good fit or are a health professional wishing to refer, please contact us here.

Sound good? Lovely!

1. Book a New Client - 'Baby Step' Session
  • Duration: 30-minutes

  • Cost: $125

  • Purpose: combines our intake process (i.e. ensuring we are the best support service for you) and provides a low barrier, lower fee, lower life admin means to accessing support. You can read more about it here.

  • Book directly via Halaxy below or clicking here: you will be asked to provide some details about yourself, consent and pay the full fee to secure your booking.

  • Alternatively, you can ask your GP for a referral and Mental Health Care Plan and contact us with this information or email thebirthofuspsychology@gmail.com.

If there are no 'New Client - Baby Step' session appointments available on Halaxy please check back another time or feel free to email thebirthofuspsychology@gmail.com.

We do not currently operate a waitlist. If you require support sooner, please meet with your GP to discuss alternative options or see our FAQs for further information.

You can also sign-up to our mailing list to stay up to date on our plans to grow.

Please note we are not able to provide emergency or crisis support. The following services are available if you need a friendly ear:

  • PANDA 1300 726 306

  • Lifeline 13 11 14

  • ForWhen 1300 24 23 22

  • Mental Health Line 1800 011 511

  • If an emergency, please call 000

2. Attend 'Baby Step' Session

You will receive a booking confirmation via email and text message.

By the end of the session, we will have a plan for your next baby step. This may be booking ongoing sessions with myself or you may decide on a different direction: that is okay too.

If we decide together to continue sessions, we will book your next session.

3. Attend Ongoing Sessions

Duration: 50-minutes

Cost: $250 ($104.75 out of pocket following Medicare rebate)

Frequency: as agreed

The first session will go in-depth about getting to know your history, family and current needs. You will also be provided a secure link to complete:

  • Additional information about yourself, Medicare information and bank details (for rebates)

  • Questionnaires that provide a snippet of how you are currently feeling:

    • Depression Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21)

    • Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS)

  • If you would like to claim Medicare rebates, you will also need to upload a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP

And this is why I created the 'Baby Step' Session, because all of the above feels a bit overwhelming, right? Less mental load, more support. I can help you with all of the above once we meet.

If you have any issues or questions please email thebirthofuspsychology@gmail.com.
